About Me

Short Personal Description:

I grew up in Englewood, Colorado, and played three sports at Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village.  Graduating in 2000, I attended several universities and played baseball in college, finally settling down to earn a B.A. and M.A. at Colorado State University.  Rocky has been my home since 2008.  I teach Language Arts, coached C Team baseball from 2010-2016, and was our department leader from 2016-2023.

You will find me running, going on adventures that involve mountains and hot springs; meditating; playing golf; reading; writing; and trying to fix things around the house when I'm not teaching or grading essays.

What does the Lobo Way mean to me?:

My Lobo Way:
I believe in holding myself and my students accountable, learning from mistakes, and moving on with this new learning.

I believe Rocky is a family because I have experienced how we take care of each other like a family does. Families don't get along all the time, and they fight for each other. They pay full attention to each other. They help each other. They are honest with each other.

I treat all people with politeness and respect. I expect my students to do the same.

I believe in the whole human. The "student" is just one role in a much larger identity, and Rocky is a place of learning and growing with this whole sense of self.

Ultimately, the Lobo Way gives students and staff the freedom to explore, to be challenged, and to be a part of something bigger than oneself, with community, service, and justice as fundamental tenets.
