About Me

Short Personal Description:

I have been teaching vocal music in Colorado since January 2002, but have been at Rocky Mountain High School since the fall of 2012.  I live in Fort Collins with my husband, Christopher, our daughter, Allie, and our three dogs, Chance, Charlie, and Bentley.  Our son, Adam, attends the University of North Dakota pursuing a degree in Aeronautical Sciences.

Educational and Professional Background:

I graduated cum laude from Colorado State University in December 2001 with a degree in music education.  From there, I began my teaching career at Estes Park Middle School and High School.  In the fall of 2005, I began a new job in the Thompson School District where I taught elementary music and high school choir.  After discovering that I most definitely prefer teaching secondary music, I was very pleased to be hired at Lesher Middle School for the 2006-2007 school year where I remained until transferring to Rocky in 2012.  I received my masters degree in conducting from Colorado State University in December 2011.

Interest & Hobbies:

Two of my favorite activities include reading a good book and trying new recipes for my family's enjoyment.  I love to entertain in my home, but rarely find the time to do so!  There is nothing better than supporting my children with their activities-lacrosse, volleyball and music. We also enjoy boating and camping, as well as traveling to new places and pursuing new adventures.
