NCAA Eligibility

If you are planning to enroll in college as a freshman and you want to participate in Division I or II athletics you must be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Registration must be done online at the NCAA website: http://eligibilitycenter.org. The NCAA charges $90.00 for this service.

To be certified by the Eligibility Center you must graduate from High School. You should apply for certification in your junior year if you are considering participating in athletics as a freshman. The Eligibility Center will issue a preliminary certification report through their online portal when you have all your materials submitted. Be sure your official transcripts are submitted (as soon as possible after completing Junior year and after graduation).

Complete Core Course Requirements:  If you are considering participating in NCAA-regulated sports in college, you should discuss with your counselor regularly, and make informed decisions about your high school choices.  To be eligible, each student must complete specific, NCAA-approved core courses (as listed on the chart below).  Be sure to plan your high school classes to meet requirements and check the approved course list before registering each year for your classes.  To access a list of all NCAA-approved Rocky Mountain High School courses, go to: https://web1.ncaa.org/hsportal/exec/hsAction. In the box for the 6-digit CEEB/ACT code, enter: 060588.  All approved courses are listed here.

Grade Point Average: Earn a minimum required GPA average on a 4.00 scale in a core curriculum of at least 16 academic courses (Division I), which were successfully completed during grades 9 through 12. Only courses that satisfy the NCAA definition of a core course can be used to calculate your NCAA GPA. No special values are allowed for "+" or "-" grades. The chart below shows what your core courses must include.
