About Me

Educational and Professional Background:

Colorado State University: Bachelor of Music, Music Education, Summa Cum Laude, 2023

Mr. Friskney is a proud alumnus of Colorado State University where he studied Voice with Dr. Nicole Asel, Choral Conducting with Drs. James Kim and Nathan Payant, and sang in the Chamber and Concert Choirs. Mr. Friskney served as the Undergraduate TA for the Music Theory and Aural Skills courses and had the unique opportunity of directing Colorado State University's award winning, competitive contemporary a cappella group, Mainstreet A Cappella. Since joining the Lobo family in 2023, choirs under his direction have consistently earned superior ratings and recognition, and most recently, the opportunity to perform at St. Peter's Basilica in Italy.

Mr. Friskney has found his roots in the professional choral community of Northern Colorado and has managed to maintain an active performing career alongside his teaching career. He currently sings with NOCO Singers, the Sanctuary Choir at First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins, and is the Assistant Director of Laudamus Chamber Chorale. When not singing, he enjoys skiing, golfing, spending time with friends and family, and working on his cars.
