Speech & Debate Success

Congratulations to the speech and debate team on their successes at last week's Rocky Mountain North district tournament.  Only the top two finishers in each event advance to the national tournament in Richmond, Virginia, in June.

Rocky has a total of 6 students now qualified--the most of any city school--with several others who have a good chance to get pulled up.

Desmond Rietz  - 1st place - US Extemp (Desmond has also qualified in Congressional Debate)

Rebecca Park - 1st place - Original Oratory (Rebecca is also the first alternate in Informative Speaking)

Jordan Meyer - 2nd place - Dramatic Interp

Matilda Elder - 2nd place - Program Oral Interp

Dexter Shannon - Qualifier - Congressional Debate

Sky Strasberg - Qualifier - Congressional Debate

Aliya Medina - 1st alternate - International Extemp

Cam Gradiz-Adorno - 2nd  alternate - Original Oratory

Collin Brake - 4th alternate - Lincoln-Douglas Debate

Additionally, Alliyah Doering represented Rocky at the Lion's Club Oratory Contest last week and was named the city champion.  She now moves on to represent Fort Collins at the regional competition this weekend in Fort Morgan, so wish her luck!

Please congratulate these Lobos when you get a chance!
