About Me

Short Personal Description:

I am a transplant from North Carolina and have been living in Fort Collins since 2002.  Outside of school, I enjoy outdoor activities like gardening, camping, hiking, and skiing.  I love teaching because it is challenging, rewarding and every day is different and new. Overall, I appreciate staying busy; I am passionate, eager and take pride in doing my best work.

Educational and Professional Background:

I have two Bachelor of Science degrees, including one in Wildlife Science from North Carolina State University and one in Horticulture from Colorado State University. In 2006 I went back to school to get my teaching license from CSU. I taught science at Loveland High School for seven years and I joined the Rocky Mountain High School family in 2015. I have taught a variety of science courses including various levels of Geophysical Science, Zoology, Biology and Environmental Science.  Additionally, in 2014, I earned a Masters degree in Educational Technology because incorporating technology and new innovations into education has become my passion.

Courses currently teaching at Rocky and previous courses taught at Rocky:

Biology, Zoology, and AP Environmental Science
