Short Personal Description:
I am a Colorado native raised in Longmont, Colorado. I live with my wife Danny Tafel, two kids Harper Tafel (3) and Tass Tafel (1), and a dog Oakley in Fort Collins. Our family loves Colorado sports (Go Broncos and Avalanche), and spending time in the Colorado mountains fishing and camping.
Educational and Professional Background:
I graduated from Longmont High School in 2002 then earned my BA in History with a minor in Mathematics from Colorado College in 2006. I was then awarded a Graduate Assistantship at the University of Northern Colorado in Men's' Basketball and earned my MS in Sport Pedagogy in 2009. From 2009-2014 I taught Social Studies and coached Men's Basketball, Women's Soccer, and Football at Palisade High School in Palisade, Colorado. In 2014 I took a teaching and coaching position here at Rocky Mountain High School. I currently teach AP Human Geography, AP United States Government and Politics, AP Comparative Politics, and World Geography and Culture. I am also the Head Men's Basketball Coach and Assistant Unified Soccer Coach here at Rocky Mountain High School. GO LOBOS!
