Short Personal Description:
Hello, 'Bos! I'm Robert Laurie. This is my sixth year at Rocky Mountain High School, though I gained some valuable experience as a student-teacher here in 2005 and have taught at Highland High School in Ault, CO, and as a graduate-teacher at Colorado State University. I love literature-- reading, writing, teaching, and learning it. My favorite authors are William Shakespeare, Cormac McCarthy, John Steinbeck, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, and John Donne. In my free time, I like to lace up my shoes and run--especially on the trails in the foothills of Fort Collins. I am an avid fan of sports including soccer, football, and baseball. But my favorite way to spend my time is living life with family.
My current courses are Pre-AP English 9 (where we're piloting a project-based curriculum called "Compose Our World" with the support of the University of Colorado, Boulder), United States Literature and Composition, and British Literature and Composition (which offers concurrent enrollment with the University of Colorado, Denver through their CU Succeed program). On the extracurricular level, I am proud to be a coach of the Rocky Men's JV Soccer team and the assistant coach for the RMHS Women's varsity soccer team.
Let's go, Lobos!
