About Me

Short Personal Description:

Prior to me being a teacher, I worked as an advocate in the battered women's movement for 10 years.  It was when I was a teen advocate at Crossroads Safehouse, that I got the idea to do a career change as I did a lot with PSD on what healthy and unhealthy relationships look like in various classrooms.  I earned my master’s in Education at Colorado State University in 2005 through a program called Project Promise and I have been a social studies teacher at Rocky Mountain High School here in Fort Collins, Colorado since.

Educational and Professional Background:

Colorado State University - Masters in Education - 2005

University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh - Bachelors in Social Work - 1998

Courses currently teaching at Rocky and previous courses taught at Rocky:

AP Human Geography

World Geography

Psychology

Asian Humanities

What does the Lobo Way mean to me?:

To unlock the potential each of us has within ourselves and to help better our community because of it.  We do this through our attitudes, gratitude, focus, purpose, respect, and commitment...a lot of character building.  Not just saying these words...but truly being them through our thoughts and actions.

Interest & Hobbies:

I practice hot power yoga

I enjoy reading - My favorite book is The Alchemist by Pablo Coelho

I'm a cheese head...GO PACK GO!

And any time spent with my family makes for a fun adventure.

Favorite Quote:

You must be the change you want to see in the world - Gandhi
