Rocky Mountain High School features a four-by-four block schedule consisting of four nine-week terms per year and four ninety-minute classes per day. A fifty-minute common lunch period and a fifty-minute early morning class period (for specific curriculum areas) round out our daily schedule. Our schedule creates an opportunity for students to concentrate on fewer subjects at one time and to take more classes per year. For example, because students are in class for an extended length of time, a semester course is completed within one term (quarter) and a year-long course is completed within two consecutive terms (semester). Longer class periods facilitate greater in-depth learning, more positive relationships among students and teachers and better opportunities for a variety of hands-on learning activities.
